UK Freeze-Dried Strawberry Production Project with Corrosion-Resistant Design

Completed March 2017, this UK coastal freeze-dried strawberry project adopted stainless steel chambers & cold storage for corrosion resistance, 400V/50Hz 3-phase power, 304 stainless steel pallets, FDA compliance for EU export, and energy-saving solutions.
Case Details
This March 2017 project delivered a turnkey freeze-dried strawberry production system for a UK food manufacturer, tailored to the country’s rainy, coastal climate. The core challenge was to deliver a durable, energy-efficient solution that could withstand high humidity and salt corrosion, while meeting strict EU export and food safety standards.

To address the coastal corrosion risk, all key equipment including process chambers and quick-freeze warehouses were constructed with high-grade stainless steel, ensuring long-term durability in humid, salt-laden environments. A comprehensive energy-saving scheme was integrated to reduce operational costs. The electrical system was fully configured for 400V/50Hz three-phase power, and 304 stainless steel pallets were adopted to meet FDA food safety requirements for EU export.

The completed system operated stably in the UK’s harsh coastal conditions, achieving a 34% annual energy consumption reduction. All finished products fully complied with FDA standards, enabling seamless access to the EU market. The stainless steel infrastructure effectively prevented corrosion, while the modular design supported scalable production, setting a benchmark for freeze-dried fruit processing in coastal, rainy regions.
